Wysall and Thorpe Bowls Club Educational Trust

When the Wysall and Thorpe Bowls Club closed in 1987, an educational trust was created using the funds remaining in the club’s accounts. This trust is still run as a charity today and its aim is to offer financial support for the education and development of young people living in Wysall and Thorpe in the Glebe.

We welcome applications from young people under the age of 25, who may apply for a financial contribution towards the cost of trips, events, equipment and experiences which have an educational or vocational purpose.

Over the years, the trust has contributed to the cost of a wide variety of activities and learning experiences.  Here are a few examples: the purchase of a musical instrument, the immunisation expenses of a volunteering expedition to Africa, and the equipment costs of the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

The charity is run by local trustees who will consider all applications that they receive.
