UPDATES

An initial draft of the Wysall Conservation Area Appraisal has been drawn up by Rushcliffe Borough Council and is now available for public consultation.

A public meeting will be held in the village hall on June 16 at 6.00pm  for residents to discuss the Draft Appraisal and the proposed changes to the Conservation Area's boundary. In the meantime, the draft appraisal documents may be viewed at Keyworth Library or on the Rushcliffe website at: http://www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/doc.asp?cat=9574

Village Hall committee

The committee consists of 8 members of the parish. David Roberts and Mary Elston are Parish Councillors, thus providing a link with the Parish Council. The other members are Gill Berridge, Chris French, Caroline Hartley, Anne & Sam Stephens and James Logan.

The Committee meets approximately every 6 weeks and its main function is to organise a variety of events which will interest all sections of our community. We have a remit from the Parish Council to hire out the Village Hall for private events and also Village functions. We are currently raising money for ongoing village hall improvements, eg: toilet facilities.

Have Your Say – Wysall Social Functions

Wysall and Thorpe Village Hall Committee are asking Parishioners for their views on social functions in the Village Hall.  Recent events have attracted disappointing attendances which, in one case, lead to a cancellation.

We will continue to run the Quiz Night, Wine Tasting evening and Christmas Fair as regular features but would like to hear views on these and other suggestions, as below.

Please indicate ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ as appropriate in the relevant columns and your preference as to frequency of such events (e.g. once per year, once every two years, etc.).  A space has been left for any other ideas for social functions that you would like to be considered.

Completed questionnaires should be delivered to Mary Elston at Northfield Farmhouse, Widmerpool Road, Wysall, Notts  NG12 5QW, or any Village Hall Committee member - see table below.
